Hey everyone! Is anyone else in the same boat as me with their motherboard I/O facing them at their desk? I’ve found it’s super handy for switching out controllers and other advanced gear directly into the motherboard instead of messing with a USB hub. I’ve got my PC set up sideways on my desk, which lets me easily access both the motherboard I/O and case I/O for quick swaps. For example, I had a Mayflash Gamecube controller adapter that gave me a ton of input lag when plugged into the front case I/O or a USB hub, but it worked like a charm when I connected it directly to the motherboard in the back. What’s your setup like?

I don’t have that setup myself, but if it works for you, that’s great! I just stick with wireless controllers and don’t have that many accessories that need quick access, so I’m fine plugging into the front of my case.
It’s interesting you noticed lag with a USB hub. I’ve used mine extensively for Rocksmith and other games with no lag at all. Maybe your case port is acting up?
I totally get where you’re coming from! I faced my PC that way for a year because I liked showing off my (pretty overpriced) components. It’s practical too—especially after getting a second monitor, my desk got cramped, so I had to keep the intake facing me.
Yeah, I’ve used different external hubs over the years with no lag issues. It’s either they work flawlessly or have some problems, but never any noticeable lag.
