Hey everyone! I’ve heard that it’s possible to download Windows 11 for free, but you would still need a key if you want to customize it, or at least that’s what I’ve gathered. I’m a total newbie and this is my first PC build, so I’d really appreciate a laid-back explanation! What’s the difference between the free and paid versions of Windows 11?

You can actually get a key for pretty cheap, like around £10 or $10. If you plan to customize your setup later, it might be worth it to invest a little now.
Technically, it’s not meant to be entirely free, but you can use it indefinitely without activating it. Some settings will be locked, but it should work just fine for most daily tasks. If it bugs you later on, you could always buy a license then!
Yes, you can use Windows 11 for free! However, there are a few limitations. You won’t be able to customize the background, and there will be a watermark on the bottom right corner of your screen. That’s the trade-off for using it without a key.
That’s pretty much what I experienced too! The watermark can get a bit annoying, but it runs smoothly otherwise.
Windows 11 is indeed downloadable for free! The key thing is that you don’t have access to certain personalization features, but you can still set backgrounds the old-fashioned way or through third-party apps. Just be ready for the occasional reminder to activate it!
From what I’ve seen, it’s pretty similar to how Windows 10 worked before. You can use most of the features, but the customization options are limited without a purchase. If you decide to go for the free version, just know there’s that constant reminder to upgrade. You can find cheaper keys online too, if that helps.
Yeah, if you don’t mind the limitations, go for it! You can always upgrade when you’re ready.
