I’ve been a fan of Helldivers since its launch, spending a lot of time in the game during the early weeks. Back then, balance issues were pretty obvious; everyone was opting for the same combos like the breaker, rail gun, and shield because they were just too powerful. I always preferred the auto cannon for its ammo capacity and coolness, but I didn’t love the forced meta. Now that I’m back in the game, I’m wondering if things have changed. Are the weapons balanced so I can choose based on my favorite rather than just what’s best? I usually play on difficulty levels 5-7 and I’d like to know if there’s still a big gap between the top and bottom firearms or if I can have fun with my favorites without being at a disadvantage.

It’s not as simple as just a few overpowered weapons anymore. You have your preferences depending on the mission, but you can experiment more freely with your loadouts on levels 5-7. It’s a lot of fun!
Absolutely! Almost every weapon is viable nowadays. Some perform better against specific enemies, like the Adjudicator against the regular bugs, but overall, it’s pretty balanced. The Constitution isn’t great, but that’s about the only exception left.
Yeah, weapon choice is all about preference now rather than strictly following top-tier picks. It adds a lot of variety to gameplay!
Yeah, there are plenty of solid weapon choices now. You can really use a variety of guns effectively, adding a bit of strategy based on which enemies you’re facing instead of just picking the same old stuff every time.
In my experience, weapons are much better balanced these days! There’s still a few guns that aren’t as effective, but nearly any gun can hold its own now without relying on some outdated meta. You can have fun and still be effective!
For sure! I’ve been mixing things up and found success with different combos, all while having a blast experimenting!
