I’ve noticed some discrepancies with Verity’s Brow and what counts as kills for its perks. Specifically, scorch damage from Incandescent, threadlings from Hatchling, and stasis crystals from Headstone seem to register for Verity, but I’m finding that volt from Voltshot, jolting feedback volatile kills, and unraveling kills do not. Is this a bug, or is it just how the game is designed?

It’s not a bug. It’s all about how the game’s mechanics are set up. Jolt, Volatile, and Unraveling don’t count as kills for weapon perks since they don’t inherit the properties from the source that caused them. The other three do register, but jolt and volatile are classified as ability damage instead of weapon damage. That’s why they don’t trigger perks like Kill Clip or Rampage on Verity’s. Better luck next time!
Definitely not a bug! Some damage types attribute to weapons and others don’t. The damage from Headstone Crystals, Hatchling Threadlings, and scorch from Incandescent will count, as well as ignition if the initial scorch came from a weapon. But jolt, unravel, and volatile just don’t connect to weapon perks because it would make balancing damage way too difficult. I made a video on how Threadling builds can get buffed significantly due to how they inherit weapon buffs, which can boost their damage by a crazy amount!
Wait, so Suspend doesn’t count either? I knew about the crystals, scorch, and threadlings, but that’s a neat addition!
