I’ve got a rather basic laptop and am considering installing Windows 11. I’m curious if this upgrade would give me a noticeable FPS boost, especially since I’m planning to play Rainbow Six Siege. Every bit of performance counts for me due to my laptop’s limitations.

Try using tools like O&O ShutUp10 and apply the recommended settings to disable unnecessary Windows services that can slow down your laptop, especially telemetry that hogs resources. Also, CCleaner is great for cleaning up unnecessary files and managing startup programs. Just remember you can uninstall CCleaner once you’re done using it.
In my experience, switching to Windows 11 might actually make your gaming performance worse. Windows 10 has been known to run games better on many setups. However, if you fine-tune your Windows settings, you might see some improvement in FPS.
Honestly, for a low-end laptop, Windows 11 might not be the magic fix you’re hoping for in terms of FPS boost. But reducing bloatware and unnecessary startup programs through optimization can squeeze a bit more performance out of it. Give them a shot, but manage your expectations.
