I have the regular Magistar Incarnon, but it’s not seeing much use lately. I’ve heard Sancti Magistar might be great for Slam builds, so I’m wondering if it’s worth upgrading when it comes up again. Also, should I be triggering the Incarnon form to get the most out of the Slam attacks? Looking for advice on whether Sancti’s critical and status stats make a big difference or if the regular Magistar is still better overall.

The main difference with Sancti Magistar is that it has a higher base crit chance (30% vs 20% on the regular Magistar), but it actually lowers your critical damage multiplier quite a bit compared to the regular one. With the Magistar, you get a +1x critical damage multiplier boost while Sancti only gives +0.2. Plus, the regular Magistar gets better riven disposition which can impact builds more effectively. So overall, Sancti has less critical damage and isn’t necessarily better. You definitely want to use the Incarnon mode though, since it doubles melee damage and provides combo, faster heavy attacks, and movement bonuses.
I ran some damage sims and the regular Magistar pulled ahead by about 25% in total damage output. So if pure damage is your goal, the old Magistar Incarnon is still the way to go. And yes, activating Incarnon form is key for Slam builds because it boosts your melee damage and makes your attacks smoother and faster.
Thanks for confirming! Wasn’t sure if Sancti’s boosted crit chance might outpace the damage drop but sounds like sticking with raw damage and Incarnon form is the move.
