Hey everyone! I’m currently running a gaming rig with a Ryzen 7800 X3D and 32GB of RAM (AMD Expo, 6000 MT/s CL 30-38-38-96) on an ASRock X670E Taichi board. I’m mostly gaming at 4K and often utilize DLSS. I’m looking to upgrade to a 5090 whenever stock levels improve and prices come down. I don’t plan on going for a 9800X3D since I don’t think the performance boost is worth it. My question is whether upgrading my RAM from 32GB to 64GB would provide any real benefits for my setup. I’ve done some research and it seems like 32GB is still sufficient, but I’d love to hear your opinions!

You really don’t need to upgrade to 64GB. 32GB is still plenty for gaming, even with a bunch of apps running like Discord, Afterburner, and Steam. I’ve never hit 16GB while gaming, so you’re good!
Stick with 32GB for now. Unless you’re doing heavy tasks like game development or video editing, you’re not going to utilize the extra RAM. It’s better to wait until you actually need it, as RAM prices are likely to drop in the future.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Upgrading to 64GB might be overkill unless you have a lot of background processes running. 32GB should be more than enough for gaming now, and you’ll save money by not upgrading prematurely. Just sit tight until there’s a real need!
Understood, thank you.
Awesome, thanks for the help!
