Hey everyone, I’m considering buying a prebuilt gaming PC for $1800 CAD. Here are the specs: Intel i7 14700f, RTX 4070 Super with 12GB VRAM, 64GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz, a 1TB M.2 SSD, Z690 MSI motherboard, Thermalright 360mm liquid cooler, Lian Li O11 Mini+ vertical stand with 8 fans (6 ARGB), and a 1000W fully modular 80+ gold PSU. What do you think? Is this a good deal?

I’d steer clear of this one. The components are a bit dated, especially the CPU and motherboard. For a few hundred bucks more, you could get a top-of-the-line AM5 setup with latest-gen parts and better warranties. The GPU is solid, so if you can snag that separately, it might be worth it.
Yeah, it’s just that what you have might not be upgradable down the line, making it kind of a dead end.
Honestly, I think it depends on the condition and if it’s new or used. If it’s in good shape and relatively new, then the price isn’t bad. Just make sure to double-check for any wear or issues!
It’s used, but apparently in super good condition, so that might work in your favor.

Wait, what do you mean by a ‘timebomb CPU’? Is it really that risky?
