I’m about 10 hours into my playthrough at Skeethmoor, and I’m starting to feel like the game is more of a chore than anything fun. My inventory is packed with junk, and while the crafting system is there, it barely seems useful outside of making bandages and upgrading weapons. I’m running really low on ammo, and every shot feels crucial, but even the robots take a few hits to bring down. Looting is frustrating because there’s a ton of scrap and liquor everywhere, but I can barely scrounge up a couple of bullets, even in containers. Vendors have been unreliable, and I’m not seeing a way to craft ammo. I spend so much time searching for bullets, and it’s making the game less enjoyable. What am I doing wrong?

I haven’t really had ammo issues myself, but I can see where it could become a problem. I usually go for stealth – headshots and silent takedowns save you a lot of trouble. Mixing up the types of guns and ammo I use has definitely helped me manage my resources better.
You might want to try picking up a bow and taking down druids instead; I hear they drop a lot of arrows. Just keep in mind that you’ll still run out of them eventually, too. They’re not super common elsewhere in the game.
Remember, this game strives for a more realistic experience. In a quarantine zone after some time, there wouldn’t be much ammo or weapons left. The bartering system reflects that. It sounds like you might have had the wrong expectations going in, and this game may not be your style.
I get what you mean! I can see why it has its fans, but after 10 hours, I’m feeling a bit exhausted too. I really wanted to enjoy it based on what I heard, but it just doesn’t click for me either.
If you’re really not enjoying it, just push through to the end; it shouldn’t take much longer than a few more hours. It seems designed to be a short experience, so maybe it’s best to finish it up and move on.
This game is definitely about playing your way. Many players found that the run-and-gun strategy isn’t the best approach. Everything respawns quickly, so it’s often better just to sneak past enemies or chat with NPCs. Think of it like aiming for those stealthy achievements in Dishonored; it sounds less frustrating than just fighting everything you see!
