I bought a Minecraft Java Edition account years ago when I was a kid, and I’ve kept it ever since. Recently, I tried logging in again but found out that the account isn’t accessible because it wasn’t originally created with a Hotmail or Outlook email. I did migrate the account as requested, but since my original email wasn’t Microsoft-based, I can’t get back in. I can’t afford to buy Java again, and I really want to play for nostalgia’s sake. Is there any way to fix or recover my old Java account under these circumstances?

Unfortunately, once Mojang started migrating accounts to Microsoft accounts, they required users to link their old Minecraft accounts to a Microsoft email like Outlook or Hotmail. If the original account was created with a different email and you didn’t link it properly back then, there isn’t a straightforward way to get it back now. They sent multiple emails over the years urging players to migrate, so missing those warnings really does complicate recovery.
Yeah, I did complete the migration step with my account, but since the original email was not a Microsoft one, it seems like that caused the problem. Really frustrating.
