I’m curious if it’s possible to add 80 or more to my roll with a chosen skill in the game “DOMINATE THE BRAIN”. I’m trying to understand the reasoning behind such a high difficulty class of 99 without using mods or any cheating methods. It seems puzzling that there are so many skill options available for this particular challenge. I know that a critical success is required to actually succeed, but I want to explore the highest possible numbers achievable within the game.

Honestly, those numbers feel like they exist just to add fun to the game. If you land a crit, sure, it kind of lowers the final boss’s HP a bit, but otherwise, there’s not much reason to aim for those massive skill checks leading up to it.
Realistically, you might only land a roll in the 50s range with specific conditions, but those 99s are designed to be impossible aside from hitting a nat-20.
For me, getting a roll above low to mid 30s feels like a stretch. High 40s sound improbable!
If you can find a way to gain advantage on your rolls, you could potentially get close. That might double your chances and give you a shot at those higher numbers!
You’re right about that! I just haven’t had that advantage during my rolls.
Hey, watch the spoilers in your title, man.
It seems nearly impossible to reach that 99 mark. I’ve hit around 45 with all the right boosts. Even then, it’s pretty rare.
Good point! The only way to beat that challenge is by rolling a natural 20. Those high numbers are basically meant to stay unreachable unless you’re super lucky.
I know that already! I’m just intrigued about the max number you can hit in the game, which is why this particular roll had me questioning things.
You definitely need to roll a 20. Plus, failing doesn’t have a huge impact, it’s not the end of the world if you don’t hit that high mark.
It’s primarily a storytelling device. The high difficulty emphasizes how tough some challenges are. It’s less about actually hitting those numbers and more about the narrative experience.
Most players talk about hitting the high 40s or maybe 50 on very specific checks. Doubling up on bonuses and advantages might be the key to getting closer to that elusive number.
Interesting info, thank you!
Thanks! It’s just I keep getting rolls under 30, so I was really curious about what the top range actually looks like.
