I’m curious if anyone has heard any news about getting GTA 5 Online to work on Linux. Has anyone found a workaround to bypass Rockstar’s BattleEye anti-cheat, since they seem pretty reluctant to support Linux users?

Every time I jump into GTA Online, I’m bombarded by hackers ruining the gameplay for everyone. If it’s not a hacker, it’s someone spawning cars and cash—just no fun! It seems strange that people still want to play like that.
Nope, as it stands right now, it doesn’t work and likely won’t until Rockstar decides to allow it. They just haven’t shown any interest in supporting Linux so far.
Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any news, and it’s not looking promising due to Rockstar’s stance. They seem pretty set against supporting Linux for their games.
That’s part of why they added the anti-cheat. Plus, with two different editions on PC, the player base is even more split. I doubt they’ll release a Linux version because they’d have to offer support for it too. If you manage to get the Windows version running on Linux, it doesn’t really count as official support.
