I just encountered Minsc and what I thought was Jaheira in the sewers, and I ended up killing him. I didn’t know who he was before, so now I feel terrible because he’s clearly not an evil guy—he’s being manipulated by the cultists! The issue is that the real Jaheira is dead in my game, and from what I’ve read, it seems like I need her in my party to recruit Minsc. Is there a way to still get him to join? Can I potentially knock him out or get rid of the fake Jaheira somehow? I really want to save Boo!

You definitely need the real Jaheira to recruit Minsc, so unfortunately, if she’s dead, you’re out of luck. It’s a huge bummer, and you might have to reload an earlier save or just accept that Boo is going to be sad forever now. It’s a painful decision, but it seems like there’s no workaround here.
Yeah, Boo’s fate is sealed with that choice. It’s tough because Minsc is such a great character and seeing Boo sad just breaks your heart! You might want to think about keeping a backup save next time, just in case.
