I’m curious if there’s a workaround when it comes to respeccing my abilities. Every time I want to respec, I have to spend my first ability point on Charge, Tanglefoot, or Minor Missiles to unlock the rest of the skill tree. Is there any way to skip this step? By the way, I still love this game!

Unfortunately, you’re always going to need to invest in one of those three abilities before accessing the rest of the tree. However, once you hit higher levels, you can skip the lower-level rows after you place that first point.
I can’t imagine not picking Minor Missiles, since it’s super useful in fights. But hey, different strokes for different folks! If you’re a Wizard, I get why it might not work for you beyond initial testing.
Yeah, Minor Missiles is probably the weakest choice of the three. Charge and Tanglefoot can dominate in battle! Tanglefoot, for example, lets you root enemies, which is super effective, especially when paired with a companion. I’ve been using Charge as a Battlemage, and it’s just so satisfying to send enemies flying!
