I’ve been farming for power-ups and gold in Candy Crush to avoid spending money on the game. However, I have a problem whenever I pass my phone to my nieces and nephews; despite my warnings, they always end up using my power-ups and gold. I don’t mind them using basic items like cookies or candy bombs, but it drives me crazy when they waste the special ones like UFOs, Swaps, or Party Streamers that took me a long time to collect. Is there any way to lock these power-ups so that kids can’t access them when I let them play? That would really enhance the quality of life for players like me!

You’re right; it does have some gambling-like aspects. But a lot of games are designed this way now. It really just depends on the individual kid and their understanding of these things. Honestly, I think app developers aren’t too keen on parental control features since they make their money this way. And Candy Crush has reportedly made over 20 billion dollars!
Honestly, maybe just don’t let them use your account at all. Games like this expose kids to in-app purchases, which isn’t the best thing for them. It’s something to think about!
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s currently a way to lock specific power-ups. The only thing I can think of is logging out of your account before you let them play.
One solution is to give them a different version of the game to play. I mean, there are lots of similar games out there that they might enjoy just as much without worrying about your progress. Just a thought!
