So before the latest patch, I used to grab everything I wanted from vendors by just giving them a bag, stuffing all the items in it, and then knocking them out—kind of like a quick shortcut to loot everything without trading. But with the new vendor patch, doing that treats the bag like regular inventory and deletes most items, which is a total bummer. Has anyone figured out a new exploit or trick to bypass this patch and grab all the vendor items without losing stuff?

There’s a bit of a workaround folks have been trying with the warlock’s pact weapon. The idea is to use pact weapon, put that weapon into the barter menu, then manually swap the barter weapon to replace your pact weapon. After that, you go back and forth between balancing the barter and toggling it repeatedly. It’s a bit of an exploit but not as blatant as the old rat trick. Haven’t tested it on all classes though—didn’t work on a Eldritch Knight for me.
If you really want to stick to sneaky methods, pickpocketing is still an option—though at low levels it’s pretty risky and might not always pay off. So it’s not as instant or reliable as the old knock-out-and-bag trick, but it can work if you’re patient and want that thrill.
Honestly, the easiest way now is just to pay the vendor fairly for their goods. The game actually gives you enough gold to buy anything you need, even in modes with stricter rules. I get the appeal of sneaky tricks and stealing, but using glitches to get everything for free kind of takes away from the fun and challenge, especially when gold isn’t really scarce in this game.
If you want, you can always use mods or cheats to get around the problem. There are tutorial chests or cheat menus (like from Nexus mods) that give you tons of gold or items instantly. But if you’re trying to do a legit, cheat-free run, then this obviously isn’t the way to go.
