I’m thinking about picking up an Xbox One X mainly because of its price and the performance it offers for older games. I don’t care much about playing new titles, but I’m curious about how it handles resolution settings. My monitor supports 1440p, and I’m wondering if I choose the 2K option, will I get better frame rates? I want to avoid rendering at 4K if I can’t see the difference.

I think the Xbox One X is definitely better than the Series S, especially for older titles. If you find a good deal, it’s worth it.
Honestly, you might want to consider getting an Xbox Series X instead. It offers quick resume and better performance with Xbox One X enhanced games. Plus, the Series X will supersample down to your 1440p monitor, which improves the overall experience, including loading times.
Absolutely! The Xbox One X is still a fantastic console, especially if you’re focusing on older games. It was top of the line for its time, and it can handle those titles really well.
Just keep in mind, it’s not the best option if you ever decide to play modern Xbox games since they won’t be making new Xbox One titles anymore. But since you want older games, it could still work for you!
Exactly! But just remember that performance on newer games won’t be optimal.
