Hey everyone! I’m returning to the game after some time, and I’m curious about the Sterilizer. When Chemical warbond dropped, it seemed really underwhelming. Have there been any changes to the FARTER-9000, or is it still not great? I heard the fart-dog got some buffs and might actually be a viable option now. Thanks for any insights!

I mainly use the Sterilizer during bug eradication missions for fun with a full gas build! I think we could do with a gas primary weapon! A shotgun that hits with gas but doesn’t leave a cloud could be really entertaining, like toxic spikes or caltrops.
The Sterilizer got a nice buff recently! It now lasts 10 seconds, and the dog breath only targets enemies that aren’t affected by gas, making both the dog and the Sterilizer quite powerful. I love going full gas against bugs; it feels almost unstoppable! Combine it with heavy gas armor and a vitality booster, and you can thrive in gas clouds without taking damage.
Honestly, the Sterilizer is still probably the least efficient way to use gas. While gas itself is useful, you’ve got better options like grenades, guard dogs, and gas bombardment that handle area denial way better—plus they don’t require your full focus for short-range cloud setups.
Yep, that’s what always frustrated me about it. But at least my favorite fart dog and other gas options are still strong! Any thoughts on gas mines? They sound powerful.
I’d say it has its own unique efficiency. Sure, something like orbital napalm can be stronger, but you can rarely use it due to the cooldown. The Sterilizer has fantastic ammo economy and range, allowing you to apply gas exactly where it’s needed most.
Wait, so the 10 seconds buff is for the Sterilizer’s gas, right? Not just for gas in general?
