I’m looking for a gaming solution to enjoy after work while relaxing in front of my TV. I initially bought a laptop, but it hasn’t been comfortable enough. I’m considering the Steam Deck, but I have some concerns about its ability to handle AAA games since I’m used to playing everything at 60 FPS or higher. Can the Steam Deck run games like The Last of Us Part 2 decently? Does playing at 30 FPS ruin the gaming experience?

If you’re focused on AAA games, the Steam Deck might not meet your expectations. Check out ProtonDB to see if the specific games you want run well on it. But remember, there are loads of games beyond just AAA titles that could be fun on the Deck!

I get that, but I still want to play those big AAA titles—even if it’s at 30 FPS. I’ve heard that frame generation mods can help boost the performance too, but honestly, I just want to kick back on my couch and enjoy some gaming without a ton of setup.
