Hey everyone! I’m thinking about picking up a Steam Deck again and I’ve come across some great deals on the LCD model, especially the 64GB version which is way cheaper than before. I’m curious if the LCD is still a solid choice, or if I should just save up a bit more for either the OLED or the Lenovo Legion Go. What do you all think?

Having owned both models, I’d recommend starting with the OLED if you don’t already have a deck. But if the LCD deal is too good, you won’t regret buying it as long as you know your gaming needs.
I had the 64GB model before switching to a 1TB OLED. The difference is huge—the OLED is lighter, has better buttons, and the anti-glare glass is a game changer. But if you’re not into graphically demanding games, the LCD does just fine.
I’ve had my LCD for a while and I’m really enjoying it. If you find a good deal on the LCD, I say go for it!
From my experience, there’s not much difference in performance. I upgraded my 64GB to a 1TB SSD and my LCD has been fantastic! I’ve been playing through the Tomb Raider games and just waiting for Final Fantasy 7 Remake to go on sale. Totally worth it if you’re okay with the storage issue!
For me, the LCD has been perfect after two years. Sure, the OLED is nicer, but I don’t regret my decision. Just make sure to upgrade that storage if you get the 64GB model!
Gotta be real here. I kind of wish I had the OLED, but I definitely think spending extra cash on it feels like overkill. My LCD has been my everyday companion for gaming on the go. It handles battery life like a champ for most games, and if you play something easy on battery like Balatro, you could literally game all day on one charge. I’d pick up the LCD again in a heartbeat!
Haha, right? I’m just waiting for the Steam Deck 2 to drop!
If you’re looking at the OLED, consider how much better it’d be if you don’t already have a screen. Better colors, 90Hz refresh rate, and improved battery life make a significant difference if you’re starting fresh.
Honestly, it really depends on what games you want to play. I would suggest checking out some YouTube reviews and player feedback on those titles first. That’ll give you a better idea of how well they’ll run on the LCD.
If you’re willing to wait, maybe hold off for the Legion Go with SteamOS. I think it could be worth it, but steer clear of the Windows version if you can help it.
Bazzite seems like a cool alternative too!
Sounds about right! I had the 64GB model too and just threw in an SD card. It worked great until I finally upgraded to a 1TB SSD.
