Hey everyone! I’m considering buying a Steam Deck mainly to play Watch Dogs 1 with the Living City mod. I know it’s kind of a niche reason for buying one, but I’m curious about the gameplay experience when hooked up to a TV. I have an HDMI 2.1 TV, so I don’t think there will be any issues on that end. I’m mainly looking for insight from anyone who’s tried it this way. Also, I’m wondering if it’s feasible to use additional graphics mods for a better experience, or if that would be pushing it too far?

If you’re planning to play at 1440p, you should be okay with the Steam Deck handling Watch Dogs. I’ve seen others playing it smoothly on the device itself, though bumping the resolution up too high might push the limits. Also, combining it with a graphics mod could enhance your experience, but just make sure to check the mod’s requirements to see if the Deck can handle it!
I’ve got a pretty old 1080p TV, and the games I’ve tried, including RDR2 and Cyberpunk, run great. I’ve used a USB hub to connect everything. While I haven’t tried Watch Dogs yet, if it runs well on the Deck itself, I think you’ll be fine for couch gaming!
Thanks for the insight! So it sounds like I might not be dreaming too big with the mods. I’ll definitely check out some requirements before diving in.
