I’m currently on the AM4 platform with a TUF Gaming B450M-Pro2 motherboard, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and an XFX Qick 308 RX 6650 XT graphics card. I’ve got a 600W Be Quiet power supply and 2x8GB of 3200MHz RAM. I’m looking to upgrade my processor this paycheck and want to know if the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is the best option for my motherboard. Will I face any issues with compatibility?

Honestly, the 5700X3D is a good choice but it might not be worth the current price tag of over $250. It was a solid deal when it was below $200. For your situation, considering your tight budget, you might want to look at the 5600 series instead since it’s cheaper and still a solid upgrade. If you’ve got a little more to spend, you could also go for an AM5 setup, but you’d need to stretch your budget quite a bit for that.
No issues at all! The 5700X3D is a great choice to max out what you can get from the AM4 platform. Just don’t forget to update your BIOS before installing the new CPU for compatibility, it can make a big difference!
Updating the BIOS is totally what’s got me worried, haha. I hope I don’t mess it up!
In the Philippines, I’ve seen the 5700X3D going for around 12k pesos (about $210), but that’s still steep given your budget. Maybe sticking with the AM4 and getting a cheaper option makes more sense right now?
