I’m considering getting the RX 7800 XT, but I noticed that the RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB is priced the same. Should I wait for the upcoming RX 9070 GRE and RX 9060 XT to see if they’re worth it? Also, is it smarter to choose the 5060 Ti because of DLSS support? I’d appreciate any advice!

Honestly, if both cards are similarly priced, I’d lean towards the 5060 Ti if you’re into ray tracing features. However, the 7800 XT outperforms the 5060 in certain games, but not by much. Considering your power supply is also a factor; the 5060 needs a 550W PSU compared to the 7800 XT’s higher demand. In short: if you want DLSS and have a 600W PSU, go for the 5060. If you have a 700W or more and prefer AMD, the 7800 XT is your best bet.
I’m in a similar boat but I’d go for the 7800 XT since I’m not really into DLSS. My monitor’s only 60Hz, so I’m not too worried about performance upgrades. There’s always something new coming out!
If you need a card now, I’d personally go for the 7800 XT. AMD is working on enabling FSR4 for it, and I believe it’ll be a solid choice. But if you want a safer choice right now, the 5060 Ti is good too. If you can wait a bit, definitely see what the 9060 XT looks like.
I recommend holding off for the 9060 XT. If it ends up being the same price or even lower than the 5060 Ti, and performs just as good or better, then that’s the way to go.
Are you currently using DLSS? Because I’d find it hard to give that up. FSR3 doesn’t compare well to DLSS in my opinion, so if DLSS is important to you, it might affect your decision.
I have an RTX 3060 right now, so I could wait for the 9060 XT.
