I’m planning to build my first PC mainly for recording, editing, and uploading gameplay videos on YouTube. I don’t know much about gaming PCs, and the build I’m looking at includes the RX 7800 XT graphics card. However, I’ve heard some people say the RX 7800 XT isn’t great for editing. Can anyone clarify if this card is suitable for video editing tasks? Also, any advice on what components to focus on for smooth editing would be really helpful!

For video editing, the CPU actually plays a bigger role than the GPU in most cases. You can get solid editing performance with a mid-range graphics card like the RX 7800 XT, but pairing it with a strong processor makes a bigger difference. For example, something like an Intel i9-13900K or Ryzen 9 7950X will handle editing workloads smoothly compared to a weaker CPU. So if your budget is tight, focus more on getting a good processor first, then the GPU. The RX 7800 XT should hold up decently for editing and gaming both.
Thanks! Do you think a Ryzen 5 7600X is enough for decent editing performance then?
