Hey everyone! I’m new to PC gaming and building my own rig. I currently have an RTX 4060 paired with an Intel I5-13400F, which works great for the games I play. Recently, I upgraded my monitor from 1080p to 1440p, and now I’m considering upgrading my GPU. I’ve seen some reviews for the RTX 5070, but I’d love to hear what the community thinks. Is it a solid upgrade from the 4060? Here are my current specs:
– 32GB of DDR4 RAM
– I5-13400F
– RTX 4060 8GB
Thanks for any insights!

Yeah, the 5070 shines for 1440p, especially for single-player and city-building games. If you’re into those genres, you should have a great experience, even with some settings turned down if needed!
Absolutely! The 5070 is a fantastic card for 1440p. It offers about twice the performance of the 4060 in most cases. Just a heads up though, in some specific games that require more than 12GB of VRAM at max settings, you might need to dial back a few settings from ultra to high or medium.
The RTX 5070 is definitely a solid pick at its MSRP of $549. Just be careful not to overspend on the fancy OC models; they don’t offer a huge performance jump for the price. It should give you a great boost, especially for 1440p gaming!
In NZ, I’ve seen it at around $1,300, which isn’t too bad considering our market.
Thanks for the reassurance! I mostly play single-player games, so that sounds perfect.
