I’m in the process of building a PC for my son, and he’s mainly interested in playing Fortnite, Roblox, and Marvel Rivals at 1080p. I know the RTX 5060 8GB isn’t the most powerful option due to its limited VRAM, but I’d prefer to buy a brand new GPU for warranty reasons and peace of mind. Given this, do you think the 5060 will meet his gaming needs, or is there a better GPU option out there? Also, I’m considering the 9060 8GB as an alternative, so I’d love your opinions!

For the games your son wants to play, the RTX 5060 8GB should do just fine. Kids can be fickle with their game preferences, though, so you might want to keep that in mind. However, even if he does hit a VRAM limit, it could be a good lesson in tweaking game settings and exploring modding.
