Hey all! I’m thinking about whether it’s worth upgrading to the PS5 Pro or sticking with my current PS5 Slim until the PS6 arrives. The Pro seems pretty pricey—almost the cost of two PS5 Digitals, which makes me wonder if it’s a sensible buy. Have any of you grabbed the PS5 Pro yet? Or are you happy with the base model? What do you think about the improvements and value for money?

I’ve still got my original PS5, and honestly, it’s been great for me. The upgrades on the Pro don’t feel like enough of a jump to justify the price right now. Unless more games really start using its features, or the price drops a bit, I’m happy to keep my base system and my Portal controller.
I own both the base PS5 and the Pro, and honestly, the Pro is a nice step up, but you don’t miss out too much if you stick with the original. It’s a solid upgrade but not a game-changer for everyone.
I got the PS5 Pro on day one, and for me, it made a huge difference. No more deciding between frame rate or resolution—you get max settings and smooth gameplay. It’s also quieter and the bigger storage paired with an added SSD means I can keep tons of games installed. The only downside is the price, but I was lucky to get a good deal.
I really like the PS5 Pro. Compared to the base PS5, the image clarity and performance jumps are obvious if you actually put the Pro on a compatible TV. The PSSR feature can be hit or miss depending on the game, but turning it off still leaves you with a really crisp, fast system. It’s definitely expensive, but I feel like this is how the original PS5 should’ve been.
Good to hear from someone who has used both. I wasn’t sure about that PSSR thing messing up the visuals at times.
If you have a high-end 4K TV or a good gaming monitor, the PS5 Pro is definitely worth it. The visuals and performance improvements in some games feel like a whole new generation of gaming. Plus, the larger internal storage and options for performance or quality modes make the experience a lot smoother.

Thanks! That sounds pretty awesome, especially the storage and quieter operation.
