Hey everyone! I’m considering getting a PS Vita since I’ve always wanted one. I currently own a PS5 Pro, but the new Portal isn’t really appealing to me because it needs a constant internet connection, and I want a portable console that doesn’t rely on the internet. I’m curious if anyone still has a Vita and whether you think it’s worth buying now? What should I know before making a purchase?

If you really dig the exclusive games on the Vita, it might be a good choice. Just be aware that having a decent-sized memory card is a must for storing your games. I still find fun stuff to play on mine.
Honestly, only go for the Vita if you plan to hack it. It’s a solid system, but if you want the ultimate portable experience, I’d suggest waiting for the Switch 2, which is coming out soon. There are loads of third-party handhelds right now that can run Vita games too!
The Vita does have some hidden gems if you love handheld gaming, but keep in mind there are some fantastic new devices out that can emulate up to Vita levels. The Steam Deck is definitely something to consider!
I personally loved my Vita! It’s a fun little system, but keep in mind it’s quite old. You’ll want to manage your expectations, but if you enjoy some classic gaming, it can still be enjoyable.
I’ve always been a PlayStation guy since the PSone, and I feel like a lot of the games I love on PlayStation don’t really translate to the Switch or end up looking like retro graphics. Is it really that different from the Vita and PSP?
