I’m thinking about upgrading from a Series S to the original PS5 for some solid 1080p gaming. I know there’s a PS5 Pro out there, but it’s way out of my price range, and since I’m sticking with a 1080p screen, I wonder if I really need the Pro. Do you all think the base PS5 is still a viable option, or will it end up falling behind and losing support as the generation moves forward?

Honestly, dude, go for it! The base PS5 has been fantastic for me for two years, and I believe it’ll continue to have support for years. Plus, you can often find it second-hand at great prices. It’s definitely worth it for the games coming out!
There’s still plenty of time left in this console generation, and the PS5 is still supported. Its capabilities far exceed what’s necessary for most games today. You’ll be fine going with the base model for the rest of this gen!
If you’re sticking with 1080p, the original PS5 is still an excellent choice. But if you’re curious about future upgrades, you might want to think about getting a better monitor later on to enjoy 4K gaming when you’re ready. It makes a difference!
It’s a pretty good time to grab a base model since prices dropped after the Pro came out. Plus, there are actually good games available now. I picked up my PS5 just two months ago and could not be happier!
Most gamers still rock the base PS5, and many agree it’s going to be just fine even with the PS6 on the horizon. The Pro version isn’t a necessity unless you’re really craving high-end graphics. The base one is solid, and you won’t regret it.
Exactly! The base model is still really capable and won’t be phased out any time soon.
