I’ve just built my first gaming PC after years away from gaming and I’m super excited to dive into the Halo franchise. I’ve never owned an Xbox, so I’m starting from scratch with Halo. I’m quite into storylines and prefer to play games in order. I read that The Master Chief Collection (MCC) remasters the initial Halo games, so I was thinking it might be a solid way to get into the series. What do you all think about starting with the MCC?

MCC is definitely the way to go! You’ll find the debate is really about whether to launch with the original Halo or start with Reach since it’s a prequel. But for the full experience, I’d recommend this order: Halo CE > Halo 2 > ODST > Halo 3 > Reach > Halo 4. Enjoy every minute of it!
100%! The MCC is where you want to start. I suggest playing the games in the order they were released: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and then ODST or Reach. Avoid starting with Reach, and don’t leap into Legendary mode too soon. Also, use the tab key to switch between the classic and anniversary graphics; classic for Halo CE for sure!
Absolutely, The Master Chief Collection is the best way to kick off your Halo journey on PC! It runs really smoothly and looks fantastic. Just jump in and enjoy!
Plus, playing co-op with a friend can make it even more fun! There’s definitely a spirited debate between starting with Halo CE or Reach.
