I’m looking into the Lenovo LOQ Gen 9, which is currently on sale for €771.75. I’m not after high-end specs; my last PC had 6GB DDR3 RAM, a GTX 970, and an unknown CPU, so I’d be fine with similar components. This model includes:
– AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS
– 24GB DDR5 RAM
– 1TB SSD
– NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6
– No operating system (I’d rather use Arch Linux than Win11).
Are there any significant downsides to this deal? It feels almost too good to be true.

For €770, that’s a fantastic deal, especially in Europe where RTX 4060 laptops tend to be pricier. Just a heads up, the battery life might be a concern since the Ryzen 7 7435HS doesn’t come with integrated graphics, which usually helps in power-saving situations.
It’s actually two 12GB sticks. I’m good with the CPU and GPU specs, but you both mentioned battery life—definitely something I’ll keep an eye on.
Curious about the RAM setup; is it one stick of 24GB or two sticks, like 16GB plus 8GB? It could affect performance a bit. If you want the best performance, consider upgrading to a dual-channel RAM setup like 2x16GB 5200MHz. Also, just so you know, this CPU is more like a refresh from the 6000 series, so keep that in mind.
