I’m currently on my first playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 and just reached Act 2. I’ve been really enjoying the game, but I heard that many players weren’t fans of the ending. As the game has been out for a while now, I’m curious to know if the general opinion on the ending has changed or if any updates have improved it. I plan to finish the game regardless, but I’d like to know if I should brace myself for disappointment at the end.

It’s true that some early players felt the ending came a bit out of nowhere at launch, but the devs have made some updates since then. They’ve added more content for the evil endings and included an epilogue that gives you closure on the characters you had survived. Most of the recent feedback seems to be more positive, and players aren’t complaining as much as before. Just keep in mind that Act 3 does have a lot of side quests, which some folks find overwhelming, but the ending itself seems to be better received lately.
In my experience, Act 3 can definitely feel intense with everything that’s going on. That classic RPG feeling of losing track after a break hit me too! But my take on the ending is that it wraps things up nicely and leaves some exciting possibilities open for future adventures — especially after they added that epilogue!
I played after they added the epilogue, and I found the conclusion really satisfying. It felt like a complete story while still teasing what might come next. I wouldn’t worry too much about disappointment — the experience is what matters!
I’m not sure which ending people are upset about, but honestly, I think you’ll be fine. Just play through it and don’t stress too much about what others are saying. I believe you’ll find something to enjoy, whether you get a good or evil ending.
The ending largely depends on the choices you make throughout the game. Just keep playing, and you’ll get to see how everything unfolds. It might surprise you!
