I’ve been hearing that the battery life on the Nintendo Switch 2 is pretty disappointing, especially for handheld gaming. Is it true that it only lasts about 2 hours when playing something like Mario Kart? I’d love to hear your experiences! Should I maybe wait for a battery upgrade before deciding to buy one?

In my experience, regular Switch games can give you about 4 to 6 hours, while Switch 2 titles drop down to around 2 to 3 hours. So, it really depends on what you’re playing!
Yeah, from what I’ve seen, the battery typically lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours for more demanding games, like Mario Kart. It’s definitely more powerful than the original Switch, which affects battery life, but it’s still manageable. For lighter games, like Deltarune, you might get a lot longer out of it. As for a battery upgrade, there’s no news on that yet, so it’s a personal choice if you want to upgrade now.
If battery life is a huge concern, consider you might be better off getting a battery pack to keep enjoying it! The original Switch didn’t get a battery upgrade, they just improved power efficiency. Enjoy the system without stressing about potential upgrades that may or may not happen.
