I’m considering upgrading my GPU from a 3070 8GB to a 9060XT 16GB, mainly because I’ve upgraded my RAM to 64GB and now my current GPU struggles with games like Star Citizen. With my budget being pretty tight, I want to know if this upgrade will make a noticeable difference or if I should look for something better.

Honestly, I don’t think the 9060XT is worth it. You’re looking at spending $300-400 just for a bit more VRAM, which won’t really boost your performance significantly.
The 9070XT might give you a slight upgrade, but not enough to justify the cost. I’d recommend saving up for a 9070 or 5070 to see a meaningful performance increase instead!
It’s a bit underwhelming. You’re looking at only a 5-15% FPS improvement, which isn’t really that impressive.
In my opinion, upgrading to the 9060XT is more of a side grade than a true upgrade. You’ll gain extra VRAM but with the same compute power. A 9070XT or 5070 Ti would be a much better choice for a serious upgrade if you can save up!
What are your thoughts on the 7900 series?
Oh, I meant the 7900XTX!
Just to clarify, he meant the 9060XT, not the 9070XT.
