I’m considering the RX 7800 XT priced at $580, but the lowest I can find the 5070 is $700 while the RX 9070 goes for $850. I primarily game at 1440p, so I’m wondering if it’s really worth spending more on the 5070 compared to the RX 7800 XT.

I’d personally recommend the RX 7800 XT. I’ve got the Gigabyte version and it’s served me really well. It pairs nicely with my 5800X, delivers excellent performance, and is super quiet. Totally satisfied with my choice!
Oh, and just so you know, I saw the RX 7800 XT for as low as $550! You might want to jump on that deal—it’s hard to beat that price unless you find a 5060 Ti with solid benchmarks.
If you’re leaning towards the 5070, consider the 5070 Ti instead. VRAM seems to be essential these days, and honestly, you’ll want at least 24GB to future-proof your setup. But if you’re sticking with AMD, just make sure to go for a high VRAM variant since game optimization isn’t great nowadays.
Yeah, but the 5070 Ti is priced at $1,070. That’s pretty steep for me!
I just picked up the Gigabyte RX 7800 XT for $590 and I’m planning to overclock it. Fingers crossed it runs smoothly!
