I’m really curious about Super Mario Odyssey and wanted to know how it compares to Super Mario 64. Since both are 3D games focused on exploration and collecting items, do you think it’s a fair comparison? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth buying before I spend my money!

For sure! Odyssey combines elements from all the 3D Mario games that came before it, while throwing in fresh ideas. It’s a great mix that captures the essence of what makes Mario games fun.
From what I’ve played on the Switch, it definitely feels reminiscent of SM64. If you’re into that style, you’re going to have a ton of fun. It’s a blast!
If you’re into the 3D Mario vibe, you’ll love Odyssey! I wasn’t a fan of 64 or Sunshine, but I had a blast with Galaxy and Odyssey. If it piques your interest, I’d say go for it!
I like to think of it as the perfect blend of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. The visuals are stunning, and it truly feels like a love letter to the franchise. Definitely worth checking out!
I just got my copy of Odyssey, and I can’t wait to dive in! I’ve heard it’s phenomenal, so as a fan of Galaxy, I hope it lives up to the hype. Can’t wait to share my thoughts after I play!
Absolutely! Super Mario 64 is probably the closest comparison for Odyssey, but Odyssey takes things to another level with its larger maps and more collectibles. The lack of a hub world makes it feel different, but you can totally see the homage to SM64 in terms of exploration.
I’d say it reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie too! You get to transform in fun ways, and collecting Moons doesn’t kick you out of the action, which is a nice change. It’s really engaging!
