Hey everyone, I just wrapped up Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and loved it. I recently picked up the first game since I hadn’t played it before. I’m considering diving in on Hardcore mode for my first playthrough. Do you think it’s worth going straight into Hardcore, or should I play the game normally first to get a feel for it? Curious about the experience and whether Hardcore mode adds enough to justify jumping in blind. Thanks!

Honestly, I think Hardcore mode is how the game was meant to be played. Playing on normal feels like having training wheels. If you want that authentic challenge and immersion, go for Hardcore from the start.
You can definitely jump into Hardcore right away. Keep in mind combat in the first game is a bit different, and early on your character’s pretty untrained, so fights can be brutal. It’s tough at first because your guy barely knows how to handle a sword, but that’s part of the challenge and charm if you want the full hardcore experience.
I’d recommend playing normally your first time through. There are some notable differences between the first and second games, and in Hardcore mode you don’t have a player marker on the map, which can make navigation tricky. Although you still have access to the map with roads and landmarks, it takes some getting used to without the marker guiding you.
