I’ve recently returned to Sea of Thieves after a two-year break, and I’m finding solo slooping to be way more challenging than I remember. I used to manage skeleton forts and world events on my own, but now I keep getting interrupted by other crews, making it impossible to finish anything. I suspect that the recent changes, like safer seas, might be a factor; it feels like all the solo looters are now filtered into safer areas, leaving the high seas packed with aggressive players. Is anyone else experiencing this difficulty with solo play?

It sounds like you’re just hitting some busy sessions. Solo play has always been tough, but honestly, with things like harpoon running and better mechanics now, it might actually be easier to manage than before. You probably just have had some bad luck with overly aggressive crews lately.
From my experience, it’s the easiest it’s ever been! Just keep an eye on your surroundings and don’t hesitate to leave if you see a ship approaching. World events can be risky, sure, but rapid tactics like using throwing knives against bosses can really cut down on time and risk. If your horizon looks clear, you can often get in and out before people even notice you’re there!
I guess it really depends on the time of day you play. I’ve had some chill sessions lately too, but traffic can really vary.
As a fellow solo player, I think the game plays hard mode for sure, especially with the world events being popular. However, it’s mostly about luck with the players you encounter. If you’ve just returned after a long break, your skills might need some tuning, but you’ll get better with practice!
Totally get that! I jumped back in after a long break too and noticed that the skill gap is wider now.
Yeah, I think the session dynamics have changed a lot. It’s easier to swap servers now, so more aggressive players can quickly show up in your area.
