I’m a bit curious about ‘Save The World’ as my son has been wanting it lately. He enjoys Fortnite, but he doesn’t know much about this mode. Can anyone break it down for me? What’s the gameplay like? Is it challenging? I want to avoid getting something he won’t use. I’ve heard he might be embarrassed to ask his friends for more info. Thanks for any help!

Hey there! So, ‘Save The World’ (often called STW) is a co-op player vs. environment mode where you fight against zombies and defend your base. You buy it once, and it’s yours forever. The gameplay is centered around completing quests and building defenses, but it can be a grind, especially at the start. It’s advised to team up with others to make it more enjoyable since it can feel slow at first. Just a heads up, you won’t earn V-bucks after the first week now, so that’s something to keep in mind!
It’s definitely entertaining! The price is around $15 and you get V-bucks as you make progress. I’ve been enjoying it for nearly a decade; it mixes objective defense with shooting mechanics really well. It can be a blast if he’s into that style of gameplay!
Hey! Appears like you’ve got a cool kid on your hands! If your son is older, like 13 and up, I’d say go for it! STW has some light crude jokes and story elements that might not be suitable for younger kids, but it’s mostly lighthearted. The missions require teamwork against fading husks, and it’s perfect for casual gamers. He can also play solo if he likes, but it sounds like he might enjoy bonding over it with friends!
Just a heads up, make sure your son knows about the V-bucks. After June 2020, new players can’t earn them like before, just about 1500 from progressing a bit. But if he likes zombie shooting and a more chill pace than Battle Royale, it could be fun! Learning can be tricky at first, so he might want to check out some YouTube guides.
Does he have an interest in tower defense games? If so, STW might be right up his alley since it’s all about building and defending against waves of enemies!
Great point! It’s a nice change from the usual modes and even if he gets bored, he can get around 1500 V-bucks from completing the main quests, which makes it worth the price.
