I’m looking to buy a Lenovo Legion laptop and considering the GPU options. I have a gaming desktop that I use at home, so this laptop is mainly for gaming on the go. The laptops I’m comparing have the same specs apart from the GPU: both sporting an Intel i9, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB NVMe drive. I also wanted to mention that I recently found the 4070 version for just $200 more than the 4060. What do you think? Is the upgrade really worth it?

Honestly, I don’t think paying extra for the 4070 is worth it. The performance difference is pretty minor, just around 15% extra raw power for a hefty price tag. If you want to maximize the performance of the 4070 or 4080, the fan noise would be really annoying too. I’d stick with the 4060 unless you’re really set on upgrading. It’s sufficient for a laptop!
Totally agree. The 4060 should handle most games without issues on the go.
If you’re only going to be gaming on it while plugged in, I’d say save your cash. The $300 extra for the 4070 isn’t really justified for a secondary device, especially if you’re just using it for travel. Better options like a ROG Ally could give you decent gaming without breaking the bank.
I thought the same! A portable solution makes more sense when traveling.
Right? Plus, battery life on these laptops can be a huge letdown if you’re not plugged in.
A lot of people are saying the 4060 is a solid choice for gaming laptops. The price hike for the 4070 isn’t worth it unless there’s a killer sale. I would keep an eye out for good deals instead.
Exactly! Be patient and wait for that sweet discount.
The $300 difference can buy you a nice accessory or two for gaming!
That’s a good point about the noise! A laptop should be easy to transport, not an audio disturbance.
