Hey everyone! I’ve noticed that my Steam Deck gets really hot while I’m gaming, often reaching temperatures in the high 60°C to low 80°C range. Should I be concerned about this heat affecting my device, or is it normal?

80°C isn’t too hot for your GPU/CPU. However, if you’re worried, you might want to lower some game settings or use features like FSR to help manage temps. It’s expected for handhelds to run a bit warmer!
You shouldn’t worry too much about those temperatures. CPUs can usually handle heat up to about 90°C, so as long as you keep an eye on the temps and ensure the ventilation is clear, you should be fine!
Yeah, I agree! Just make sure to keep the vents clean, and you should be okay.
Don’t stress too much about it unless your temps consistently hit the 90s. If it gets too bad, your Steam Deck will usually shut down to protect itself. But seriously, 80°C is generally nothing to worry about!
Exactly! It’s pretty normal for handheld devices to run hotter during gaming.
