I’ve been using my Ryzen 3800X with an RTX 3070 since the 30 series came out, but I’m starting to notice some struggles at 1440p in certain games. With all these new games on the horizon, am I risking an outdated setup?

Don’t sweat it as much! A lot of newer games, especially those on Unreal Engine 5, just tend to be poorly optimized, even for newer rigs. It’s not just you; plenty of players are feeling the same frustration.
Honestly, you might be in a bit of trouble soon, mainly because of the CPU. The 3070 is great, but without a decent CPU to back it up, you might struggle with DLSS and modern games. Consider upgrading the CPU and DDR5 first; that’s usually a better move than rushing to get a new GPU. You could always upgrade the GPU down the line when prices drop.
I’m in the same boat! DLSS isn’t my favorite thing either, so I’ll sit tight until the market calms down.
Yeah, some of these modern titles just don’t perform well, regardless of your build. The 8GB VRAM is becoming a concern for sure. I’m not too picky, though. If I can hit a stable 60fps, I’m happy. I think your 3800X will hold up a bit longer!
For sure! As long as you’re hitting that 60fps mark, you’re probably in decent shape. Prices for upgrades might need to stabilize a bit before serious changes, though.
Totally agree! UE5 games seem like they really push hardware to its limits.
