Hey everyone! I recently built a gaming PC and wanted to get your thoughts on whether it’s a good deal for what I spent. I managed to score some credit card points which helped lower the price a bit, but I had to make some trade-offs on certain components. Here’s the breakdown:
– Subtotal: $6,406.00
– Total after taxes: $6,683.06
– Credit Card Points Value: $1,066.83
– Final Cost: $5,616.23
Here are the specs of my build:
– Case: Fractal Design North XL Dark Tint Tempered Glass Panel
– Fans: be quiet! Pure Wings 3 120mm (3x)
– CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (16 cores at 4.3GHz)
– Cooler: TRYX Panorama ARGB 360 Liquid Cooler
– RAM: 64 GB DDR5-6000MHz (CORSAIR Dominator Titanium)
– GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (32GB, ASUS TUF GAMING OC)
– Motherboard: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO
– PSU: 1200 Watt NZXT C1200 Gold Fully Modular
– SSD: 2TB WD Black SN850X M.2 PCIe Gen 4

$6.5k for a gaming PC? You could buy a decent car for that price! Just think about what you’re using it for. If it’s just for gaming, maybe consider scaling back a bit?
Honestly, I think you spent way too much. A lot of folks are questioning the $4k price tag for the RTX 5090, which is pretty steep! Unless you got it for a lot less, that’s a significant investment. Still, if you prioritize high performance for gaming or 3D work, it might be worth it. Just be careful with that spending!
I actually got my RTX 5090 for around $2.8k, which is close to MSRP, so not all sales have to be such a rip-off!
