I recently asked ChatGPT to help me put together a future-proof gaming PC, and I made some adjustments based on reviews and availability. Now I’m a bit unsure about the reliability of the build. Here are the specs I ended up with:
– Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero
– CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
– RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 64GB
– GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition (I’m set on avoiding Nvidia)
– PSU: Seasonic Prime PX 80 PLUS
I’d really appreciate any feedback on whether this setup is solid or if there are better options out there!

There are definitely some areas to improve. The motherboard seems okay, but I’d suggest the AMD 9800X3D instead of the 7950X3D for better performance. Your RAM capacity is great, but if your budget allows, consider going for a 4090 or 5090 GPU. And don’t skimp on the PSU; at least 1100W is ideal—unless you have endless cash, then go wild!
Honestly, it’s hard to trust AI for something like this when there are tons of detailed reviews from professionals. In my opinion, this isn’t the best use of your budget. And forget about future-proofing; that’s usually just a myth in the PC world. You’re going to be spending money to upgrade sooner than you think.
It’s like asking if an iPhone today will still be cool five years from now! Building PCs is more of a hobby than a one-time achievement. You’ll find yourself constantly upgrading, no matter how good your initial build is. It’s a fun cycle! From my old DX486 days to my current RTX 4070 Ti, I’ve learned there’s always something new to try.
