Hey everyone! I recently bought a gaming PC for $900 and I’m looking for some feedback on its performance. It runs most games on max settings without issues, but I ran into some frame rate problems while trying to mod Elden Ring. My specs are as follows: RTX 4060 (the 8GB VRAM version), i5-13400F processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz (planning to upgrade to 32GB), and a 1TB SSD. The motherboard is an Intel B760. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the performance and any potential upgrades you think I should consider, especially for modding games like Elden Ring. Thanks a lot!

The RTX 4060 is a solid mid-range card, but just a heads up, your i5-13400F may slightly bottleneck its performance. It’s not necessary to replace the motherboard right now, but keep in mind that may be something to consider in the future. You could think about upgrading the CPU later on to get even better performance!
I’d say your build is decent for gaming, but it might be seen as low-end by some, considering it’s a couple of years old. If you do decide to upgrade the motherboard, it’ll likely mean upgrading the CPU and RAM too. Also, keep in mind that the 8GB of VRAM on your GPU is a bit limited for modding, especially at higher resolutions. If you’re running at 1440p, that might explain the struggle with Elden Ring. You might want to consider a future GPU upgrade as well!
I think your computer is fine! The comments here are a bit extreme. The 13400F can handle good GPUs without bottlenecking, especially if you’re not going for super high settings in demanding games.
