I’m curious about whether I should purchase Mortal Kombat 1 for my Steam Deck. How does it perform on the device? What are the experiences like in docked mode?

From what I’ve seen, MK1 runs between 30 to 55fps on the Deck. It’s not the best choice for a fighting game since you want a smooth 60fps, but you could always check out streams or videos on YouTube for more insight!
I played through the story mode on the Deck, and it was okay! I got around 40fps on a mix of medium and low settings. It looks decent for single player but I wouldn’t want to jump into competitive with that framerate.
I played once and found myself super annoyed with the performance, especially in the final sequences. If you decide to buy, try it out right away to ensure you can get a refund if you’re not feeling it!
Honestly, I’d hold off on buying it right now. The performance isn’t great on the Steam Deck. It might be worth waiting for an ultimate edition or some major updates before jumping in.
