I’m really confused about how bans work in this game. It seems like anyone can just report someone they don’t like for any reason, like their transmog or something petty. I found some players AFK in a battleground, and when I pointed it out, one of them started spamming reports against me for ‘communication abuse’, and I ended up getting banned. Is this really how it works? It feels like the game’s losing players because of these issues – especially in PvP.

This is the classic “I got banned for no reason” post. It’s becoming a common issue others are facing too. Maybe it’s time for some changes in how reports are handled?
Every player has a breaking point. Time for Blizzard to step up!
Just submit a ticket to Blizzard and frame it as a billing issue. They tend to rush to respond when there’s actual money involved. It’s a trick that’s worked for me in other games, just be polite in your messages!
It’s a stretch to say PvP is dead. WoW still has a solid PvP community. Sure, it doesn’t compare to something like League, but it’s still alive in the MMORPG world.
Mass reporting does happen. If Blizzard sees abuse from the report side, they do take action against those players too, so don’t hesitate to appeal your ban.
Nope, you’re not wrong. They know the system is flawed, but they focus more on profits than player satisfaction. It’s all about the money.
Honestly, bots and automated systems are the real issue. However, your ban would get reviewed by a human if you push for it—usually, though, it’s all automated without an actual person looking at it unless you appeal hard.
LOL, but good luck with that! It feels like every ban just gets swept under the rug without real attention.
It’s not random; you have to draw attention on yourself for people to mass report you. Just keep a low profile and your chances of being banned are slim. Also, if you report someone, they won’t know it was you unless you announce it.
I remember a blues post mentioning an addon that lets you report anyone without needing to target them. It can catch people off guard and actually get them banned.
This is why many players choose to play solo in MMOs. With toxic players able to easily silence others, it’s not surprising. The automated blocks in place really don’t help either.
Yeah, it happens. The report system is pretty automated, even for appeals. A first offense usually just leads to a silence or mute, not a ban unless it happens a lot. But I get how frustrating that is.
Totally! A mute feels like a ban for some players since it’s still restrictive.
There might actually be a pattern that needs to be taken seriously this time.
