Hey everyone! I’m currently running a Ryzen 5600 with an RX 6600XT, and I’m looking to upgrade to an RX 9070XT. However, I feel like my 5600 might not be powerful enough to handle it. Should I just upgrade to a Ryzen 5700X3D, or would it make more sense to go all in on an AM5 build? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I was in the same boat recently! I ended up just popping a 5700X3D in along with the RX 9070XT. My performance doubled at 2K resolution! I wasn’t keen on upgrading my motherboard and RAM just yet, and the performance boost from AM5 didn’t seem worth the extra hassle. Investing in the GPU felt like a better option for me!
If you’re looking at AM5, I’d suggest the 7600X. But have you considered the 7500F? It’s cheaper and offers pretty much the same performance without the integrated graphics.
Honestly, going for AM5 would be a solid choice. It’ll set you up for future upgrades too!
It really comes down to your budget. If you’re considering a full AM5 system, think about what that entails for you. Also, what specific AM5 setup are you looking at? More info would help!
I hadn’t thought about that! Thanks for the tip; it does sound like a budget-friendly option.
