I’ve been using an MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but I’m thinking about upgrading to the new RTX 5060. Should I keep my current GPU or make the switch? My CPU is an Intel Core i7-4790K running at 4.00 GHz, if that matters. I’m curious about whether the upgrade will make a significant difference or if I might be better off sticking with what I have.

Honestly, it really depends on what games you’re playing and how your current setup performs. If your 1050 Ti is still running your games smoothly at the settings and resolutions you use, you might not need to rush into upgrading. But the RTX 5060 will definitely offer a big performance boost, especially in newer titles with ray tracing and DLSS support.
Since you have an older i7-4790K, you might be bottlenecked a bit at 1080p. The CPU could hold back the RTX 5060 from hitting its full potential, so upgrading your GPU alone might not give you the huge jump you’re hoping for unless you plan to game at higher resolutions or settings.
Good to know! So should I maybe think about upgrading my CPU down the road too?
Also, price plays a big role here. The 1050 Ti still does a decent job for many games, so if you’re happy with performance and the RTX 5060 is expensive, waiting for good deals or price drops might be wise. But if you’re craving better visuals and smoother FPS, upgrading will pay off eventually.

That makes sense. I mostly play at 1080p. Would my CPU limit me from benefiting from the RTX 5060?
