I’ve been a loyal PlayStation player for over a decade, and all my friends are on PlayStation too. I’m considering making the leap to the next-generation console because I’m really interested in playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 24. However, it feels strange to switch to Xbox for just one game. As an aviation enthusiast, I’m curious if anyone thinks it’s worth it to make the switch, especially since I don’t have a lot of other reasons to choose Xbox.

If you have the budget and it’ll make you happier, go for it! I own both consoles actually, and I primarily play on Xbox, but I switch to my PS5 for the exclusive games. There’s no need to fully switch consoles for one title, especially if you already have a collection on PlayStation.
Why not just grab a month of Game Pass and try streaming it? You get to play the Flight Simulator and access a ton of other games for that month, too. It’s a pretty good way to test the waters without committing to a new console.
But what do you even get the Game Pass on?
I’d suggest waiting a bit. Microsoft is bringing more titles to PlayStation, and soon enough, many of their games could be available there. Spending over $500 on new hardware for just one game seems unnecessary right now, especially with the likelihood of it becoming multiplatform soon.
Honestly, if you’re really into flight sims, this one’s the best out there right now. With how expensive flight sim gear can get, spending around $300 to $350 on an Xbox doesn’t sound too bad. Plus, you might discover other games on Game Pass that you enjoy!
Yeah, I feel the same! I’m mostly on my Series X too but jump to PS5 for those exclusives.
